We took this photography about three years ago when we took a trip to Turkey. We went to Turkey to visit some friends. This photo is one of the most beautiful landscapes of Istanbul. 
This picture shows the Bosphorus which is a narrow, natural strait and an internationally significant waterway located in northwestern Turkey. One can also see Hagia Sophia (Sancta Sophia in Latin), one of the most famous mosque in the world because of its history. Hagia Sophia is the former Greek Orthodox Christian patriarchal cathedral, later an Ottoman imperial mosque and now a museum. You can still see many pictures of Christian’s saints and crosses.
Another interesting thing in this photo is the ferries docked. These ferries are taken by hundreds of people every day when they go to work from East to West. In other words, Istanbul has a European and Asian side. So one needs to cross the strait to move to downtown where most of the businesses are located.
I also like this photo very much because it brings me many good memories of my trip and the people we met in Turkey, wonderful and happy people.

My mobile phone

 

It’s amazing but since I bought last my mobile phone I’d say seven years ago,  I feel it as my most loyal companion of all.

I use my mobile phone for many things, call and chat with my friends and colleagues write e-mails, as an alarm clock, to take out food, among other things, but what I enjoy the most is reading the news, especially the international news in English.

Every day I use my mobile phone, I think I never count the times I use it but I know there are a lots.

What I like the most of my mobile phone is its size, it is not small but at the same time not big at all. It’s easy to handle and user friendly, in other words, it isn’t complicate it to manage it.

When I leave home the first thing I check if I have my mobile phone with me, my life would be horrible if I not connect with the world, my friends, family, colleagues and the news!

In this post I want to talk about the reason I chose my career, and later my dream job.

I remember when I was in school I loved English. My English teacher was a good teacher and I became her assistant. She usually asked me to go with her to other classes to help her students. So when I finished high school I decided to apply to the English program at the university. I never thought of another option.

At the university, I had a great experience with my professors and classmates. We usually studied together as a group, and also, we had access to meet with the professors for any type of questions. We had long conversations with them. They told us about their linguistic approach and researches.

I believe that I have gotten the job I have always dreamed to be a teacher.

I am Myriam Gac and I was born in Santiago, Chile. At elementary school, I studied at Escuela Experimental República del Ecuador in Santiago center. Later, I completed my high school education at Liceo 7 de Niñas in Providencia.

I studied sociology at Universidad de Chile. I also obtained a master degree in social work from Hunter College in New York. Later I studied to become an English teacher in New York City College. My first job as English teacher was at my elementary school, I taught students from 7 and 8 grades.  I started to teach in Universidad de Chile in 2007 at the faculty of business and economics.

Currently I’m living in La Reina with my own family. I am a mother of three sons. My hobby is cooking. I usually look for recipes on internet and try them. My family enjoy my cooking.
